Load of shit. The woman could have been pulling out a gun of her own, and if she had drawn he would have been unable to draw too without being shot. And she had sped away from him while speeding, ignored his requests to stop and was arrogant when apprehended? Bitch. All this political correctness and amount of criss-crossy rules on firearms have scewed the system if people are fired for this. what happened to the days of "bitch is speeding, stop bitch, gun out, fine her and point her license". now officers have to wonder whether or not it's ok to use a firearm.
the reason I think they should always have firearms and should always be ready to use them is that the offender might also have a gun or weapon they can make use of in a faster manner than the officer's reaction time to pull his or hers out. After all, what good is a police officer without a gun against someone with one? i think this is going beyond the scope of that story though.
