Anyway I can get the most recent version because mine is fucked up or am I better off uninstalling the CP and reninstalling it?

The file is divided into .cab files on your Renegade Disc 1 CD. Use a program like winRAR to extract it.
Since a hard drive reads/writes faster than an optical drive, copy all the .cab files to somewhere on your hard drive.
Open <Optical Drive>:\Install\Game1.cab and extract it. WinRAR should automatically extract it from all the .cab files.

after you extract it, you will need to reapply the 1037 update.
