Hydra wrote on Fri, 17 June 2005 12:11 | So far, you've recycled the same statement four times in this thread alone; you keep saying WHAT the "rich" are doing to "screw over" the "poor," but you never explain HOW they are doing it.
|
Ever heard of Wal-Mart? That's how rich people screw poor people. Taking bigger profits and paying employees less, and cutting benefits, too. The fact that anyone would work at Wal-Mart attests to how poorly our economy is doing lately. I personally abhor shopping at Wal-Mart.
EDIT:
Just cruised on over to MSNBC.com...

There's another way.
By the way, I don't think you can find a link to the Schiavo autopsy on any of the Big 3 cable news networks. Although on CNN and MSNBC, they have minor links to a story where Jeb Bush wants to launch an investigation into a minor discrepancy in Michael Schiavo's police report filed 15 years ago.

Out of all the corporations in the US, can you tell me how many "rich" executives have been accused of this behavior?
Are we stereotyping the other 99.9% based on the handful that get attention?
Don't bother injecting your speculation about how many others are doing it and getting away with it, we're talking about facts here.

WTF, where do I find a statistic like that?
"Go find me this number that's probably never been calculated to support a minor part of your argument."
Besides, you're the one who speculated.

So the way you answer a question challenging your broad statement about all rich people is by going off on a tangent about Wal-Mart... and you expect us to take you seriously?
I'm not asking you how Wal-Mart is screwing poor people (yeah, providing them with a paying job and often-times store discounts is really screwing them over); you said all rich people got rich by screwing over poor people--I'm asking you how.
Are all rich people Wal-Mart execs? No, so your post has little to do with anything we're talking about.
Quit dodging the question and answer it.
How are rich people screwing over poor people?
You sure are wasting a lot of time finding useless graphs and articles that contribute nothing to your point.
We should continue this discussion here instead of further derailing this topic.

omg waaaaay off topic (which liberals are wont to do when confronted with the truth.)
the point is, the comic is making fun of the fact that some liberals would have a hissy fit over the destruction of the eggs of endangered species because they see it as a future life even though many of these same people would not consider the destruction of a human (or human embryo)in the womb a big deal (because they don't consider it human life). A fine, subtle way to point out the hypocrisy ACK.
get back on topic pplz.

warranto wrote on Mon, 13 June 2005 16:18 | Missed the point. The comic is dependant on what is defined by "life". If something is still undeveloped as is the egg in the comic, and is not deemed to be human/animal/living/whatever, then it should be fine to eat the egg. If it is not, becaus ethe animal wil eventually develop into the animal (as the character suggests), then the same wrong can be placed with human embryos as well.
|
Well, that's what the comic is trying to say, but not what the real issue is. Environmentalists who protect species aren't interested in the moral issues of eating a developing embryo. It's about letting eggs develop to replenish the species. Which is not the issue of abortionists.
Additionally, ACK, how do you know tree hugger pinko commies don't support pro-Life positions? Maybe they're a sect of liberalism that does endorse anti-abortion. Because such a thing does exist. Maybe you're generalizing a bit too much. Because you are.

Your idiotic point of view on life sickens me. Sometimes I wish your family had aborted you so I wouldn't have to put up with your shit. I find you to be the lowest form of life on this forum with total disregard for logic. Sometimes I wonder if your dad types your thoughts for you. You seem to be able to spew the party line quite effeciently.

Not necessarly.
For example, if a person is against "animal testing" but person "b" is being a dick, and person "a" replies with something like, "I hate animal testing, but i wish you were tested on to see what it felt like" That comment is out of anger/frustration. It does not mean he likes animal testing, same thing here with the abortion crap here.
Btw, wishing someone was aborted is extremely mean...i cant think of any other thing that would upset me more then someone telling me i was a reject/mistake or shouldve been aborted.
Now, i hate the idea of abortion, in my opinion its as good as killing a baby, how could a person (in his right mind) live withthemselves after performing/agreeing to an abortion? the idea to me is abosolutely ludicrous.
Ask yourself, wouldnt it be better to just give the baby up for adoption? there are willing PARENTS who would love a baby for their own maybe be cause they are having troubles of their own.
Hell, i think even up for an orphange is better then abortion, why? because at least then you gave the baby a CHANCE in life which all beings human or animal have the right to have.
When you take away a chance in life, you might as well be a criminal.
Its ridiculus how many teens/young adults get abortions mainly because they arent ready for a child/the responsibility (they kinda go hand in hand), well hunny, you should have thought about that the night you were horney and wanted some action.
Its called CONDOMS/SPERMICIDE/BIRTH CONTROL.
Final thought:
If your not ready for a baby, then dont have unprotected sex, use protection one way or another. When you chose abortion, you chose a topic that is felt by many, to be criminal and wrong.
So remember to think things out throughly before you chose one path or another.

That's completely the opposite context than what DarkDemin used. DarkDemin said he didn't want to put up with SFL's shit, so he wished he was aborted. In your example, you show that person "a" wanted person "b" to experience animal testing to see how bad it is.
whoa.
