Because I'm lazy at the moment, I'm not going to remove the off-topic stuff as I was asked to.

However, leave the discussion for a seperate thread and keep the discussions on topic, or I will have to move them to the silo rather than have them here for referance in the new thread.

If you like live music, buy RATM's Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium DVD [best concert movie I've ever seen] and turn the volume up real loud.

Truth be told, I don't really like live albums. I'm much more of one to enjoy studio recordings. However, at a concert, that all changes. Being their live is far better than hearing a live recording.

whoa.

Mosh pits, anyone?

I've yet to go to a concert, but I'm dying to go to one. As for Lynyrd Skynyrd:

I HATE YOU. PLEASE DIE. I WANT TO SEE THEM SO BADLY.

Now to the topic of rap:

Rap isn't real music. That's right, it is NOTHING like real music. Real music doesn't need 150 profanities in a song to sell a lot of records. Real music doesn't need the vivid descriptions of murder and rape to fill out concerts. Real music doesn't glorify alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy in its songs. Real music doesn't have butchered English, which is then imprinted on today's youth to make them dumber than ever.

Rap is not real music. The sooner people realize this, the sooner humanity will rise of its current stupidity.

Uhh, you do realize plenty of Classic Rock bands glorify alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and sex.

My friend was SUPPOSED to go, but the stupid fucker never went. He never paid me the $39 for it yet either, but trust me, I'm not going to eat the ticket because he's an idiot. He's paying for it.

You poor, uncivilized people. Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of few still intact Classic Rock bands, thats worth a shit. Black Sabbath was worth more then shit when Ozzy was in it, but when he left, they turned into shit. Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the greatest bands to ever play. To stay on topic: Damn you J! How was it? Im sure it was loud, and awesome, but seriously, how was it? In detail, please.

rap is about beatin the hell outa that kid you dont like and takin his girl back to your place

vs

where as rock now is like.. i hate my life.. this one kid keeps pickin on me..
im gonna go kill my self cause life is never gonna get better..

rap was meant to impower the black community back in the day

Quote:

then wouldn't rap be a little more upbeat?

i dunno what kinda rap you listen too..
but there always talkin bout good things..

excluding like enimen cause hes got personal issues..
plus thats his claim to fame.. its what keeps him rich

rappin is about braggin.. over convidence.. being arrogant
you cant brag like them cause you dont have millions of dollars lol
thats what the games about.. its all mental..
wanting a 300k sports car cause a rapper has 3 of them isnt a bad thing..
if it helps you make something of your self and make a buck or 2

Quote:

Wouldn't it be a little more positive rather than talking about bitches, hos, and gangs?

you cant brag if your not dating girls right?
if your fat, pale as hell and got a bad hair cut..
do something about it to get the girls right?

rap is all about being your best.. plain and simple

its the difference between your mom sayin you need to get a job
vs your friend calling you a POS bumb that never has money

which one would make you feel worse and wanna get a job?

and calm the fuck down man.. aint no one attacking your ass..
im just fuckin discussin it.. gawd

and i didnt go to the MTV VMA's either.. i just sold the tickets lol

MTV GET OFF THE FUCKING AIR - The Dead Kennedys

That pretty much sums up what I think about your MTV tickets and any idiot who paid you for them.

You said it yourself already, EMO. Emo is crap and I would not argue you on that, its pussies crying into a mic about how much they hate life blah blah blah. I hate it and the only reason I listen to it at all is because if a girl is with me and likes it then fine she can listen to it because that'll make em happy, even if it is about dying lol.

The fact that when we're talking about classic rock bands, REAL rock music like Skynard and AC/DC, Eagles ect you brought up EMO music shows your an idiot whos completly out of touch with what music is.

Quote:

rap was meant to impower the black community back in the day

Back in the day MABEY, I don't think anyones arguing that. We are here and now, the rap music thats destroying a nation's youth and they're values.

Quote:

I've got issues and problems too. Do I carry guns around with me and beat up on woman?? Nope. His clame to fame? You see, this is what im talking about. If it wasn't for idiots like you keeping this cycle going he woudln't have money. He shoudln't have it in the first place. He hasn't worked hard to get it and doesn't deserve it. He does nothing but throw swears with some threats and insultes and sell it to our kids like candy. He promotes killing cops beating woman drug use blah blah blah. Anyone else think its funny all these girls think hes SOOOO hot when all he wants to do is beat up on them and then get in tehre pants and leave them.

Quote:

you cant brag like them cause you dont have millions of dollars lol

Nope, wouldn't brag even if i did have a million dollars, not like them. They got it off drugs and influincing violence. If i had that kind of money I still wouldn't buy 50 million dollars worth of cars and shit, because i don't need it. I'd still shop at TJ-Max , I'd still go out and skate everyday and wear my jeans and a t-shirt with some holy skate shoes. Thats me and i wouldn't change that. Yea i wouldn't be driving a 1988 Cavalear anymore, but i woudln't be driving a few million dollar bently or w/e. I'd get me something nice like a New Supra or Integra, my parents would get a New Suburban, not a hummer. No need to rub money in peoples faces, its not the money in your pocket its your character and actions that matter in the long run.

I could go on but i wont. 10 Minutes before school and i have finals today. (I got 88 out of 100 on my Option II College Prep english class Vocab Test Very Happy ) WISH ME LUCK PEOPLE Smile

Lijitsu: The concert was awesome. If I could remember the order of songs played I would list it, but I can only remember the first played and the last two. They started off with Saturday Night Special and then ended with Sweet Home Alabama, and then for their encore they played Free Bird. I knew all of the songs, but just not the lyrics to about half of them. >.>

They are definetely one of the greatest bands to ever play, and for me I would venture to say that they are the greatest American band to ever play.

Have you ever actually spoken to him before? I'd think that living 2 miles away from one of rock's greatest contributors, you'd have come into contact with him a few times.

Nah, can't say I have seen him because he goes around in blacked out windowed cars, and probably gets somebody else to do the shopping etc.

Plus, he lives in the middle of nowhere and I live in an isolated village, so not much chance of me going to hsi area or him coming to my shity village.
