Who here knows about the spider warrior story?
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

Quote: | The aftermath of the explosion will block out the sun in on almost all of Earth, initiating another ice age.

Damn. I hate cold weather.
Seriously, though, it wouldn't necessarily be a full-blown ice age. There are several of those super-volcanos around the world, and they have erupted before in human history without causing an ice age (one of them, it is theorized, went off around the time Atlantis was rumored to have disappeared- accounting for the reports of persistent dark clouds in just about every part of the world around that time period, as well as a global temperature drop- but not an ice age by any means).
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine
Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

In that site he says that the prediction is that America (as in the entire country) will be destroyed by a tsunami. But anything big enough to create a tsunami that large would also wipe out a lot of Canada, a lot of Europe, half of Africa, South America, Central America, etc. (including some of the middle east) if it happened in the Atlantic... Or a lot of Canada, Japan, China, Australia, the Phillippines, (some of) India, Centra America, South America, and various other Asian countries and Islands if it happened in the Pacific.
The side of the mountain on that island off of Africa falling into the ocean isn't enough to do that, if/when that happened, we're only talking about a couple miles inland flattened/flooded along the eastern coast of America. (And other coastal regions in countries around the Atlantic.)
Pretty much the only thing large enough to cause a tsunami to wipe out America, would be a comet/asteroid impact in either the Pacific or the Atlantic, which would be large enough to take out the rest of the world too.

There was a predictment from the pentagon that a part of the netherlands would be destroyed in, I think it was, 2006. So at least one part of europe will already be gone by then. Not that it really matters we dutch already live below sea level anyway.
Size doesn't matter.

I agree, also I read somehwere that a tsunami caused by a meteor/comet large enough since the earth is 70% water it would go like 3x around the world in 32 hours ore so. Not only the USA would be having problems the entire world would..
There is like 3, dont know the size exactly but a mate showed me. and british siencetist believed it could be a threat somehwere close to this date aswell.

every time one of these predictions come out, they sound believable enough yet they always seem to be happening in just a couple of years time. Of course by that time everyone will have forgotten the prediction so the predictist gets away with it. Not saying it isn't true or there's no basis for the predicament but people make dramatic predictions quite often and publicize them.
Loosely related. who has heard of the bible prophecy that says during the age of the rebirth of Israel (now) a series of events will occur as well as the rebirth of jesus christ, and basically the end of a lot of the world as we know it? I read this on both a website, which looked BS, but the same thing was more or less said in a documentary about it not long ago, which predicted this in 2007 while the website only said "in the near future". They all say that the bible's prophecies have all been fulfilled thus far, saying what the prophecies were and pointing out that they happened, but they didn't prove that the bible actually prophecised these things, no documentation, or that they were precise prophecies that could not have been fulfilled any other way; although they did include some quotes from the bible. here is something I found about these end of the world prophecies, and it does have relation to this topic even though it's a religious site: http://www.religioustolerance.org/end_wrld.htm
