What are good servers to play on. Lately I have been using the pistolserve CTF server through the westwood link, and It seems to have both players that are good, and players that are not, so a good mix (except on weekends when the cheaters are out. I no longer play on weekends).
I got renegade when it first came out, but then never played online (had dialup), year ad a half ago got cable (4mb download) and a few months ago started playing renegade again. So not a noobie but noob fgor multiplay.

I enjoy playing on the Black-Cell servers. They have crates which give you special things such as refills and new weapons, or they can temporarily turn off base defenses or kill you if you're unlucky. They also use vehicle shells which can be repaired so you could still regain your tank after it has been destroyed. Also, there are special statuses: Veteran and Elite status, where you gain extra health/better vehicle armour if you do well enough in the game.

Check out the n00bstories server if you'd prefer a game closer to original Renegade without a lot of fluff.

i don't know about noobstories.
Been on three times, and all time there were loads of cheaters (twice on my side, once on the other) and it took the fun out of it. When everyone outside dies at once, whats the point???
So I have not been back to them recently. Will check them out again.
yeah, CTF seems to be my game of choice at the moment, makes you a better player since there are no vehicles, works on your one on one skills. (or 4 to 1, or 10 to 1 depended on what kind of trouble you get into  )

That was probably the nickname bug -- as one of the most well-known servers in Renegade, my server was targetted a LOT by CyberPrick and his friends. However, that bug has been fixed (Thanks Silent Kane) and now that won't happen.
FlyingFox -- you have been in this community long enough to know that "n00bstories" is the name of a website for writing stories about n00bs you encounter. It doesn't mean that the server is somehow intentionally filled with n00bs. Just because you pulled off some lucky/good maneuver in there doesn't mean shit.
