Well..this is pissing me off. i usually get 20-30 FPS ingame,but on some levels(Gobi,M11,Sand),when i face certain directions,my FPS falls down to 10. i am playing with everything on medium(all shadows off.),the res. is the smallest i can go(i dont remember these numbers off of my head..),and it is a pain in the ass!

It depends on what processor and graphics card you have. You could try to update your graphics card drivers.

I have wireless internet with an integrated graphics card, I only get 20-30 FPS. But then I lost the internet. I upgraded my graphics card to a PCI 128MB Xstasy which is also the ATI Radeon 9200 SE. Will that up my FPS to 60-80?

I doubt you'll get a good FPS using a PCI graphics card.

Actually, it can be two, unless PCI-ex just got kicked up to a 32 bandwidth, last time I checked it was sixteen...
PCI-Ex and PCI are two completly different things. The fastest AGP is 8x, and I believe that PCI-ex is 16x, so that's only twice as fast, correct?
Deadfive got a PCI card, not a PCI-Ex. Just so you knoes.

Only problem with PCIE is that we can't make full use of it yet. Most graphics cards right now make full use of AGP 8x and nothing more. PCIE is the future though because games will be designed in a way to make as much use of it as posible.
If you want to increase your FPS, there are a few things you can do.
If you have an nVidia card, get the drivers discussed here http://www.renforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=14652 .
Also try and find out how to disable vertical sync.

Yeah, I have a pci and its ok. But at one time or another I had an agp card that would have been so much better. But my old piece of crap computer didn't even have an agp slot! <_<

Your computer's system memory(RAM) and processor speed plays a big part in what your FPS can be IF your graphics card is of medium to low power. For example, I used to play renegade with an 8mb nvidia vanta LT (the 8mb is part of the graphics card, nothing to do with the system memory), and with this card my FPS would be crap. Then I upgraded my motherboard and processor. I saw not necessarily a higher FPS, but a more STABLE FPS. For the first time I could play the game in 1024 * 768 and not get crap fps. It would be low, but at least it was stably low (i.e. it would stick to the same value often, and usually not go lower). one of my friends told the same kind of story about one of their friends computers, who had an awful graphics card but one of the fastest processors available.....his FPS would be extremely stable on 5...rofl.
My suggestion, because your FPS is able to be high enough, is to get in touch with a good pc parts retailer, armed with your current processor speed and motherboard make, and ask if a new processor would be compatible with your current motherboard. Consider an AMD athlon, these are good. Save up some cash (I believe mine was about 42 pounds) and get that new processor. They'll probably charge an installation fee so first see if you can find a friend with tech skills.

AGP and PCIE are better though.
EDIT: And it is not just your card that plays the key role in good gameplay.

Monitor (Refresh rates)

The data transfer on PCI does suck, but why do all the ethernet cards, RAID adapters, sound cards, and almost all other expansion cards use it then?

No, your FPS will go up to around 50. Plus, PCI sucks, and so does the 9200SE, trust me.

Wrong. Using a 16mb video card, when I went from 500mhz to a 2.1ghz Athlon XP, the difference was only 20 FPS. I also had 512mb of memory. When I got my Geforce FX 5600 256mb, my FPS went up from 30 to an average of 90 - 120. Your video card plays a big part in Renegade, and it's just like that in any other game. Increasing my memory to 1gb has done nothing to Renegade, not even change the loading time, but in Half-Life 2 it has been a world of difference when I upgraded to 1gb.
