I have one much worse. 120gig. There are no banks of blue on this drive. And I still don't know why it got so bad. It must be those video files I was editing. Bloody swapfiles were huge.
So far 28 hours of defraging, and it's not done yet.

If I can get a picture I will.

edit=time was wrong.

28 hours? That can't be right. I defragged my 3 partitions a few days ago. One partition was only 2% fragmented so it took no time at all, but the other two partitions which totalled up to about 65GB defragged in less than ten minutes. They were each about 35-40% fragmented.

WTF? Are you crazy?!?! You change your underwear once a week? That is insane man. I couldn't do that. I only have one pair.

I am not kidding. 28 hours (about 6 of that with a message telling me that some files can not be defragmented and that I should try again)

And it is not done yet. Since I have had to remove 20 gigs of files.

I do allot of video editing at the moment (making giffs- mpegs- flash files with movieclips imbedded) - its sort of a project I have set my self. The swap files needed are pretty huge.
All the system files are fine, and the pc runs at a normal speed. It's just taking a little longer to fix the rest.

All the rest of my computers run fine and are in top condition.

dark demon you shouldn't defrag your hard drive with less than 25% of space free. 10.something * 4 is under 46. you've probably lost data by now..

secondly walrus, you are using your computer while defragging??? No wonder it is taking so long....!!

No, I might have explained wrong. It's a pc I use but while its defragging no one is alowed near it. Everything is shut off program wise. I still don't know why it's taking so long.

Any one have any advice?
Very Happy
