ive downloaded ALOT of free guestbook scripts/setups..
and i cant figgure out what im doin wrong.............

the one step i dont get when it tells me to make the folder/page a read/write atribute..

im using Fillzilla to ftp..
i right click the directory and it gives me the options to do it..

red

execute

ownwer/public etc etc

but it tells me the command is not understood..

i have a windows 2003 server (godaddy)

is this something i cant do on windows server 2003?
how would i do this normaly then?

when i try the guestbook out it always gives me an error..
like not permited or no permisson..
when i hit submit

any ideas? its pissin me off..

Windows servers don't have chmod, so I don't think permissions would be an issue. What script are you trying to use?

cause = time

Windows 2003 requires you do set permissions manually via the server itself. It's not a problem of chmod'ing on the FTP, but chmoding on the actual server.

i dont know anything about databases.. or settin one up..
so ive been tryin to find a script that doesnt need one..

i just wanna make my own form page.. point it at the guestbook script.. and have it post the form info on another page..

but i cant find just the script.. its always a package of prebuilt guestbooks..
i was gonna just redo the prebuilt ones.. but i cant even get the prebuilt guestbooks to work..

At 20fr.com (My webhost) they have a guestbook creator. But I think you have to be a member. I can make you one and give it to you. But you would have to edit it to use your own graphics.

Ill try to get around to making it for you. But don't worry it is very simple. No scripts needed. (I think)
