Anybody remember that ooold company way back called Cavedog? You know, the one that developed the game Total Annihilation? Well, a few months ago I did a search on this company to see if it still existed, but unfortunately it was bought by GT Interactive a little while back. Crying or Very Sad

It's very sad news for me, since Cavedog was a local company for me and I knew someone whose friend's dad worked there. Total Annihilation was such a great 3D RTS game (1997), it's too bad I let a friend borrow it and never got to see that friend again.

Well, rest in piece Cavedog Entertainment.

Total Annihilation rocked. That was one of the best strategy games ever made, second only to RA1 IMO. It was optimized (Ran faster than C&C95 on my P1 laptop), it was fun, it was innovative, it had it all. I wish I could find the soundtrack...

I bought the bundle pack for Total Annihilation (The Commander Pack) a few years ago from EB Games. I had the original Total Annihilation before but I didn't have the expansions. So I bought that commander pack instead to get all the games for it.

I'm glad I bought it.

It is a definate shame that Cavedog is no longer here. They were previously working on a FPS game called Amen: The Awakening. It was a really neat looking game. But the game was never finished sadly.

I loved total annihilation, and I still do, my cds are scratched a bit though, so I can't play past the 9th mission of the SP for the arm. I can't play the MP at all. I saw a download for it about 2 months ago, but by the tiem I saw it, it was being removed from the newsgroup. I periodically check for it, I think I'll just have to order it off of Amazon. It's not expensive. I have some booklet strategy guide sort of a thing, that on the last page had a picture of all the staff at Cavedog and it said soemthing abotu them possibly making a Total Annihilation 2. I need to find that so I can scan it and post the page up here.

I've got it too. It was pretty good, I always died horribly though.

Well, I still have the Core Contingency expansion pack (which also included the original version, got this pack from EB Games long ago), but I no longer have the original game... I have TA: Kingdoms though, but it gets boring fast.

TA was a fun game, my only real complaint with it was how small the units were, and that it was hard as hell to see them if you were playing on a metal map.

I have my CD's at my grandmother and grandfather's house. They live about 2 Hours away from me, so unless I go down there soon, I probably won't be joining you guys.

Its only being tracked on BT, you might check Exeem or something, but you probably wont find anything.

And the Krogoth! Took like 4 nukes to the head to destroy him.

Total Annihilation was the best. I have all the CDs and I even burned a CD of all the extra fan created units too! They still sit on the shelf awaiting a re-install on my HD.
