How to reinstall CP1
Open your registry editor (Start --> Run. Type "regedit")*, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RenGuard
and set PatchVersion to 0
Re-Start RenGuard then - it will re-run the CP installation and re-download the current (maybe changed) patch file. We are adding fixes and more debug info all the time.
* if you're unsure of what you're doing, you might want to ask for more help on these forums.

Totaly confused. Recently uninstalled and reinstalled Renegade, downloaded RenGaurd but receive an error when it starts autoupdating. Error says that i have corrupted files and that i should overwrite with the following links: "Scripts" and "always". I did this, and the error went away and the patch starting installing but it always cuts out near the end with the message " Old File does not exist" and it tells me to contact balckhand for help. Any idea whats up??

You need to update to Renegade 1.037 before installing ANY Blackhand Studios Product (RenGuard or CP1) !!
Very Important.

Tried to re-install using the "regedit" trick, downloads fine but will not finish install. See below.
"Language ID=0
English detected
Removing old always.dbs
Removing new german always.dbs
Removing new french always.dbs
Renaming new english always.dbs
Now renaming scriptsx.dll to scripts.dll
error 17"
at this point it stops resonding.
Later:(11:40) ok, after trying again it took on the 3rd try and all is well.

I got the same as Jarhead, tryed it 6 times, every time with setting the reg value to 0...
everything seems to work fine untill i get this (ss)..
then i close that window, and it says cp1 download complete... but it's not..
when i try the CP1small from zunnie, it ruins my renegade, so thats no option..
ill try to rename scriptsx.dll to scripts.dll and see if it works then...
hm this seems to work.. i joined a NR server (A0000007N, buddie 24 players) and it said im running cp1.. didnt do that before.. also renegade hasnt crashed yet (1 minute) normally it would have crashed..
hm, ill try this - and ill post again if it crashes  wish me good luck lol

If you have CP1 installed (or if you have changed the registry to make it think you do), RenGuard will download CP2.
IF you have neither installed (or if you have changed the registry to make it think you do), RenGuard will download CP1+CP2.
IF you have CP2 installed (or if you have changed the registry to make it think you do), RenGuard will install nothing.
Of course, if you select the option to not instal core patches, RenGuard will install nothing regardless.

Run the installer in admin mode. Right click > Properties > Compatablilty > Run in Admin (I think)
