they will, they are simply doing it quietly to save face with the rest of the arabs. they gain nothing by harbouring iraqis. yet they gain alot by helping the us. as for the chem weapons, whether they have them or not doesn't matter, as long as isreal has nukes, we cannot and will not try to make a case for forcing them to get rid of them because then we would have to force isreal to get rid of their nukes.
we are simply putting on a bit of public pressure to get syria to help us with getting the iraqis that fled and hopefully, syria will also help point out chem weapons that saddam hid.
