I've recently started playing Renegade and a few friends told me to download renguard. When I installed I can't get it to start properly, everytime I try I get the message "Failed to start Renegade!" then renguard restarts. Any help on how to fix the problem would be useful.

Thanks in advance.

More information would be helpful, either a screenshot, or cut and paste from the RG status window.

I think both your Game.exe and Game2.exe are RenGuard or your Game2.exe is fuxxored.

Download this file and run & extract it in your Renegade dir (overwrite existing file):

You have a space in your renegade directory - this is causing trouble with RenGuard.

Remove the spaces from your renegade directory, and it should work alright.

Hm.. Where did you install Renegade? Did you update to version 1.037
before you installed RenGuard?

Also now i think of it: Did you reinstall renegade recently? Its possible that
the registry is pointing to an old location where you previously had
Renegade installed.

Open Regedit by: Startmenu -> Run -> Regedit [enter] and check the path:
