Cow, you aren't in a position to call people idiots. Certainly not Java. But as we've seen before, making personal insults to people is a trademark of yours.

Spoony trying to say that America should disarm before anyone else would be an act of suicide.

America would be vulnerable if they can't compete on the same level as other countries if they disarmed with no guarantee they countries like N. Korea will too. Although I think that many countries should disarm to some extent.

DarkDemin | Spoony trying to say that America should disarm before anyone else would be an act of suicide.
|
When did I say America should do that? Oh wait... I didn't.
DarkDemin | As far as you even thinking that the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were unjustified you are just plain wrong.

Again, another quote which has not even the slightest relation to anything I've said.
All in all, an excellent job.

Then could someone please explain to me the primary reason for going to war with Iraq? Was it because of the potential of WMDs existing in an anti-American country? No, I think there were more probable targets (ie: North Korea). Was it because their leader treated the people like garbage? Again, other countries more targetable. For terrorists? Why not attack Saudi Arabia? How about because their leader tried to kill daddy? LOL... quite possibly. But in my eyes, the Americans would've never tackled this project unless there was something to gain financially - without the support of the UN (duh, the Russians and French are loving this trade relationship with Iraq) and whilst still in the middle of the Afghanistan campaign.
But back to the topic at hand, I do believe that the North Koreans pose more of a threat to their Asian neighbours, and that a full scale assault on the US is highly improbable. And forget about America disarming. They would never give up that tactical edge under their own power.
DarkDemin | As far as you even thinking that the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were unjustified you are just plain wrong. You are like that professor that is trying to call the people that died in the 9/11 attacks Nazis.
|
I'm sorry... I am not sure I understand... perhaps you think murdering civilians is right? I'm sure you'd also be making the same choice to Agent Orange all of Vietnam as your American military did. Please explain so that I can see if you have a point to any of this.

1. WMD concerns, which were proven valid with finding nerve gas in artillery shells. I've also heard reports that Iraqi soldiers were dumping chemical weapons into the Euphrates river before US forces arrived.
2. Terrorism links. Remember that Al Qaeda is not the end all of terrorism. There are more terrorist organizations than that one.
3. UN security resolution violations, 12 in all.
4. Humanitarian concerns.
You honestly find something wrong with getting something in return for the side-effect of liberating a country from a dictator? If we want oil from there afterward, I see no reason why it would be a problem. War is always fought for resources, land, politics, or a combination of those reasons.
As for the "tried to kill daddy" remark... Don't be a holier-than-thou asshole please. Attempting assassination of a US president, sitting or former, is something we as a nation are not very fond of. Assassination of leaders is also considered an act of war, is it not? Why is it invalid, or even able to be mocked?

to some degree, we all are. Whos to say what "Strongly" is? Even you, are partial more towards the left than to the right, and I respect that, but at the same time I am intolerable of that. Does that make sense?

I'm not strongly partial to anything...At least not anything that relates to this topic. But I am tolerant of others.

Good points ACK... but I still think there are more dangerous countries posing a threat to the US right now than Iraq... terrorists included, because they come from countries we consider ourselves allies with, and I hardly doubt that terrorist activity has decreased in Iraq since US occupation.

I got to get into this.
First off, with the China thing, they will not get involved. their economy relies to much on the USA to do much of anything but shove a few rifles through their backdoor to north korea. Second, we have nothing to worry about yet, the korean delivery system sucks, when the rockets to not blow up on the launching pad, they cannot get very far, they are not close to even reaching our coast, as of yet.
then, if we disarm, we still have more working proven missles then anyone else, it's called submarines. We can put a missle in the air with less then 5 minutes travel time into korea. that is an advantage that one does not get up. Depending on where the submarine is. When we detect them launching missles, then you can bet that north korea has around 10-12 minutes to say good bye to their loved ones, if they actually launched a missle, then we would take care of them once and for all and be damned with the results.
We are the bully of the world at this moment in time, and are picking fights with everyone. north korea is going to find out the hard way that you do not f$$k with the USofA
