At long last they are free.
It took a while, and I feel sorry for them. Being tortured without reason is not easy to deal with. I can imagine that its overwhelmingly frustrating. This will stay with them for years to come. I'm grateful that i'm white. This would have never happened to me.

OK first of all, do you have any concept of the wrld outside America? Because you are sounding like a Redneck who has lived his life in one tiny village their whole life.
Black people are different in the UK. They DON'T go slinging around "Oh dat broda is a cuz" and "n____r"* everywhere they can.
This happened to them because they were dark-skinned, Muslim and they probably live in an area like Brixton. I fall under none of those categories, therefore this would never have happened to me?
Let me ask you something. Those four were released today, because they were promised not to be a threat to national security. They were not charged with anything when they were arrested, taken to Cuba or when they returned to London. So what were they arrested for? How the fuck did the police pick these people out of the 60 million living in GB? Why didn't they arrest a white person? White people can be terrorists too. Ever hear of IRA? KKK?

How long did it take to establish that nothing wrong was done? Like I said, if I went there, would I be arrested? If I was somewhere I shouldn't be yes. Would I be detained? for a short while, yes. Okay. Let me give you another spin on this since you want to try and play this game "WELL IF THAT WAS ME THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED" Last time I thought about it, no one has power to predict the future like that lol.
Racial Profiling. Wrong, no. OKay if we see an Muslium with a few other Mulsiums boarding a plane, and a 80+ Year old Black/White grandma. Who is going to more likely to blow up that plane??? THe muslum, therefore we should be using racial profieling and checking them instead of the white people that is true.
However, if I saw a white man such as yourself walking down the streets of Afganistan in a time were if your white there just walking down the street SOMEONE WILL PROEBBLY HURT YOU, and everyones just leaving you alone. I WOULD ARREST YOU. To bad we can't test this.
But it is NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK OR MUSLUM OR FROM BRIXTEN, ITS BECAUSE OF THEY WERE IN THE WRONG PLACE AT WRONG TIME, GOT CAUGHT DOING SOMETHING WRONG, OR SOEMTHING. I can garentee you the goverment would NOT detain them that long with out it going out to the media and them bringing it to light 3 years ago or the realistic optioni. THEY DID SOMETHING WRONG.

Actually I don't think the article demonizes the US for this, but Tony Blair has been criticized about not working more to bring the men back, and the general public feeling is that they have not done something wrong.
Cow, they probably were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Going to Afghanistan at the time they chose to is pretty dumb. But was it neccessary to keep them in Cuba for so long? The UK gov't didn't do as much as they could have to bring them home - and I'm not entirely happy at that. How long does it take to verify wether those people were a threat or not? And if they DID do something wrong, what is it? I understand if miranda rights do not come into play here, but not telling anyone in that world what they did wrong, if they did anything at all?

Two Words: Black Panthers
The point here is that racism is two way but often people dont see it that way and it becomes a double standard. Its true, the "N" word should never be used by ANYONE whether he be White or Black or Asian or Latino or What have you. And neither should the Cracker name calling. Perhaps its true that the N word is worse than Cracker, but its still not right to say such mean things.
