I just got it today, but I'll only be able to use it tomorrow.

So... Here's my new rig:

Air cooled A-TOP XBlade case (blue)
http://www.a-top.com/xblade/xblades.jpg

Pentium 4 HT processor 3.2GHz overclocked to 4.0GHz
(cooled by a Zalman heatsink)

Kingston DDR PC333 512MB RAM (X2)

Linksys 100MB Ethernet card

ECS 865-A (not quite sure) Motherboard

ATI (Connect3D) RADEON X800 XT 256MB AGP VIDEO CARD.

Western Digital 120GB HDD (7200)

Maxtor 40GB HDD (7200)

-------------

I've put that money in my box only to get the best gaming experience in Half-Life 2... Talk about a waste of money eh? Wink

Your turn!

I suck cock and love it... absolutely love it. And I just got banned for being too immature to be allowed to post here.

I don't get these threads....what's the point? post your rig and see who's got the "bigger dick"? I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't care less about anybody's PC.. unless they're needing tech support or something.. bah.

plus an x800 is a waste of money... no need for anything better than a 9800 right now. what are you going to do, get your computer to handle a hundred trillion calculations a second while playing doom3 and half life 2 and watching two DVDs?

Heheh, give him a break. Owning a nice PC that costed a small fortune is a matter of joy. I should know Smile

Here's mine:

http://img154.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img154&image=pc0011xv.jpg

Athlon XP 3000+
Asus A7N8X-X
BeQuiet 430W PSU, 2 blue-led fans.
1024Mb Kingston DDR400
Soundblaster Live! 5.1
Gainward 6800 GT Golden Sample (beats Ultras Razz)
Dualview, main monitor at 1600*1200@75Hz.
Thermaltake XaserIII series case.

Btw Aprime, you either say DDR333 or PC 2700, not PC333.

MHZ isn't generally the only thing that shows how good a CPU is. The Athlon 64's are around 2.4ghz but they blow away a lot of CPUs out there.

Yeah, AMD processors work at slower speed (= less clock cycles, Mhz), but they do a lot more work per each clock cycle. That's why an AMD Athlon 3000+ can compete with a 3Ghz Pentium, even though Athlon only runs at a little over 2Ghz.

Intel is following AMD's footsteps in this though. In close future, the amount of Mhz isn't even shown in the processor name, they just make different brands to reflect the CPU's general capabilities. The amount of megahertz won't mean very much anymore.

You paid $700 just for a video card? Scary.

Mine:

AMD Athlon64 3000+
3GB RAM (Yes 3 Gigs of RAM!)
2 73GB Ultra320 SCSI hard disks (simply nothing faster)
BFG GeForce 6600 GT OGC (overclocked)
Antec case - 'nuff said
SB Live! X-Gamer 5.1
Creative Inspire 5.1 surround speaker system using fiber optic input
Sony CPDG521P 21" Monitor w/dual inputs
Sun Microsystems 18" TFT display (actually not connected ATM)

I don't have a $700 video card, but my hard drives and perhaps even my RAM cannot be beaten Razz

Over a year old and good enough for me, and work.

Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton (OC'ed to 3200+ when needed)
1gig Samsung PC3200
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Hitachi 250GB SATA HDD
480W near silent Power Supply

All enclosed in a heavily modified $20 screwless case.

Attached to a 17" KDS CRT monitor

I'm thinking this time next year I'll be due for an upgrade. I can't justify spending a shit load on a new computer after just a year.

Bah my mobo has dual 1GB network ports as well, but I didn't bother to mention them since they are absolutely useless unless plugged into a gigabit switch which other computers that have gigabit ethernet are also plugged into Razz

Since your cable modem is only 10MB, might as well not even mention it Wink
