What reallly bothers me is the fact that so many people have problems with SP2, some are really severe, but I have zero problems with it. Although, my Renegade does crash on exit sometimes, but I doubt that's an SP2 issue.

JP

Yeh, its sp2
Other crashes are caused by just Renegade btw.
If u want reduce the chance of Renegade crashing
play on 640x400 16 bit.

What a lame excuse to fix a simple problem. Only people who are stuck in the dark ages of graphics can bear looking at something as bad as that.

Uh, yeah, only if you have an ancient piece of shit.

I can record 30 fps videos with fraps on 1024x768 full detail in Renegade.

I have noticed that if you click "Quit" at the bottom of the menu instead of hitting "Escape" at the main menu, it crashes less often.

But I have been running with the Core Patch for quite a while and the crashing didn't start until after I upgraded to SP2.

I'm the bawss.

I never hit escape to quit, maybe that's why I get it way less often.

Same here. It started after SP2 was installed. The f8 thing works fine though.

The final Core Patch change to scripts.dll and the final release of the Core Patch both occured at about the same time most people downloaded and installed SP2. The occurance is rare, therefore most people blame it on SP2.
