Recruit

We are running renguard on our NE Public Warzone server, we run it on half-renguard setting. As I am running renguard, i still get those very annoying Admin messages over and over in the game. What is the problem? Is it a problem that can be fixed?

i'm not sure if this has been brought up on the forums before but i pointed it out to mac one day in IRC but he said i was not running RG when i am.. i then logged on and off blah blah to prove it to him.. and he went /away Sad

still no clue if they know about / are trying to fix it
i hope they fix it soon becuase trying to rush and BANG right inview of the base defense you get a pop up
by the time you realise wtf it is you are dead Sad

Yeah isn't that the sad ironic truth of it? Not only one popup but i get about 6 at a time, it is set to do it i think right when you are about to engage someone. It never fails right as I am about to fire on someone or something the BOOM popup. Gotta love it. Mad

my view: if you're not cheating there shouldn't be a problem with you being there, so why be hassled about it? If the server wants to let non renguard people in it means they accept non renguards who will choose if they want to use it or not.... a server isn't a darn website that's funded by renguard or something....
we don't all know spacebar gets rid of the pop ups quickly. we "can" read messages at the top telling us about it. so please, owners, stop that shit because it ruins the game when you're in a fight - which is often.

On my servers I realized that the BRenBot code for half renguard is a bit buggy, so I set the amsg to nothing in the config file, so basically is sends "pamsg <person> " to the FDS which just generates an error and no popup for the player. I kept the message at the top that says "Blah is NOT running RenGuard!"

Though I do want everyone on my server to use RenGuard, I don't think it's working out very well to have them get an amsg in the middle of battle. The worst for me is when I get that "on renguard but the server doesn't think so" bug when I hop out of a tank to repair. Scary...
