3GB a month is nothing.

We ran out of our bandwidth (6GB) in 7 days. Then again, someone did it on purpose, but we still ran out of it. Smile

whoa.

Rather than asking how much traffic that is, you should consider how much traffic your site will receive- How big are the files which will be accessed by outside users & at what frequency? For example your signature alone is 42771mb (42gigabytes)...
My personal website is down for the whole month because I got real cavalier about hosting images & giffs for friends. (see here - http://www.freewebs.com/patsweblounge/ ) Oh well, it's a learning experience for me as well as I didn't really know what bandwidth was before they temporally halted my site. It's like money - it's not growing on trees as I once thought... Wink

I took up 7.0 gigabytes when I used to host images off my computer. And that's only from the renegade forums.

No. Seriously. No.

LOL. Did nobody else notice this?

42 gigs...that's about half my HD space.

42771 is about 43 kilobytes. 1024kb make up 1mb. 1024mb make up one gigabyte. 1024Gb make up one terabyte. The average HD space these days is 80Gb.

Your own server is WAY better, and only limited by what YOU can do.

I'd prefer splitting the cost of a dedicated server, right, Ty?

Dedicated server? Wha?

Since I'm still a n00b to the overall internet, I must say that getting your own server is still the best option. Just run it 24/7, keep it in a closet or somewhere convinient where it can get the ventelation it needs, and run it using your internet connection. You can remotely connect to change the server and such. Of course, for this you need at least DSL and your ISP service must give you unlimited bandwith, like mine Very Happy

I run my server off of my Personal Computer using Abyss Web Server. Takes up less memory than Firefox, can run PHP, ASP, and Perl scripts (installation seperate) and is easy for most people to use. Also, it doesn't take up 20mb of space, it takes less than 1mb.

No. Seriously. No.

Thats from http://www.FreeFlow-Solutions.com, my Web Hosting, Graphic Design, Web Design and Coding site.

For an extra one time fee of $20 we'll even make you a basic site an code it. Its i've seriously reducted price on the web design for you only because i'm feeling festive, lolz!

3gb is really nothing :S it kinda depends on what speed the internet will be your getting.
If you get 3Gb with a 128K/64k connection, i guess you are less likely to exceed that limit
than when your getting a 10m/2m..

My bwusage for the last few weeks, did a clean install of winxp recently so ..

"$6 per month for 250 Gig, Unlimited BW"
Which is it? 250Gb or Unlimited (FUP) ?
