Petitions do work, it got the scripts.dll source after they refused to release it.
If its impossible to port it, then it wont happen for sure.

C&C has been ported, many times in fact. I'm sure somewhere, the source for the first couple games are locked away for future use. Even though the original Westwood team no longer exists, with the exception of Sperry and a few others, a C&C game could still be made. I'm not asking for the original, but more or less a C&C game in general. As for the original, they could implement skirmish into it.
The reason I have more confidence in this is because there simple seems to be no logical reason for EA not to do this. They said they wanted to support the DS, and this would give them a large profit, mainly because of the possible short developement time (if they built off an existing game). Also, not only would it make money, but people would like the game. It seems that those two things never happen at the same time anymore in games.
Whether or not EA decides to listen to their fans, this game would be a highlight for the DS. No questions asked.

its not a bad idea. I did enjoy red alert more though. Of course thats what it was supposed to do, improve on the original. Either way, if they made it id buy it.

To think that EA will do something that will cost millions just because a few people on a petition want it is just rediculous.
First, how do you know it was the petition itself that got them to release the dll, did they specifically say that it was the petition that got them to release it? If it was, then there is a huge difference between asking them to release the source to a dll and asking them to develop a game (mainly the millions of dollars it will take to develop and publish it).

Well the petiton it to let them know there is a fan base. We should really goto the other Cnc sites and ask them to post it in their news or something. if anything else, at the very least, it might just make them say "Ok there is some interest in this idea."
They said "No we will not release the source." Sent the petiton, and a little bit later it was released. Thats all i know.

I'm unsure whether to support this or not...on one hand, it would be a great handheld game if it were a port of TD or RA. On the other hand, I'm afraid that EA would try to smear the C&C label with more of that "Generals" bullshit if they ever did make a C&C game for a handheld- and that is something I'd puke at the sight of.
That, and I'm going to be buying a laptop for college anyway, so pretty soon I won't have any need for a handheld console and probably will never bother with DS.

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

More than anything, I want the idea and the concept of an RTS game to show it's demand for the Nintendo DS. If EA decides to not port C&C or make a C&C game, but another company does, say Petroglyph (in an extremely rare case), then I will still be satisfied. Of course, if the idea of an RTS gets heavy feedback for the DS, a game will be made, and shortly afterward when EA sees the success it gets, they will follow.

The N64 version would be more adequate for the DS...
I suck cock and love it... absolutely love it. And I just got banned for being too immature to be allowed to post here.
