OK, I have a few logos here for sale. I need to make some room and some of my logos have to go. The first one up is a Half Life 2 logo:

You don't get what I'm talking about. When someone makes something good out of it (for one thing, it's really hard work) then its value has increased greatly.

Wood doesn't cost that much, at least here in canada.

If that were the case, why doesn't a wooden piece of furniture only cost about what the wood would cost? Maybe it's because not everyone can make something out of that cheap wood. What you are really paying for is the craftsmanship of the item, not the cost of the wood.

Im not saying that we should only have to pla for how much the supplies cost but I think thats way to much money for a piece of wood the supplies prolly cost like 5$ Id sell them for like 50$ for the complex ones.

Here's an analogy:

If you have a car and it is having engine problems, you take it to a mechanic and he finds that it needs a new head gasket he doesn't charge you $10.00 for a new head gasket and send you on your way does he? No, he has to charge you for his time to take out the old one and put in a new one. Same basic principle.

A piece of wood may only be a couple of dollars, but how many people can cut it, carve it, sand it, and paint it to look exactly like the two dimensional object it is on some website or game box?

And that is your opinion, and you're welcome to it. I suggest you give it a try and after spending countless hours cutting, carving, sanding, and painting it, you tell me how much you think your effort was worth to make the item for someone else.

I am not a factory, this stuff doesn't roll off of some assembly line, I make it all by hand. Time is money.

I know how it works but I think the labour is way to much for some of the pieces. For example the Half-Life 2 logo is very simple it should be like $30-35. Then for ones like Halo it should be $75.

Um, yeah, if you weren't so fucking naive you'd notice that the Halo logo IS $75 and the HL2 logo IS $35.

I was walking around Times Square (New York pwns) with some friends a couple of days ago and I saw a framed picture. It was about 36 in. by 36 in. It was a really cool "map" of manhattan with parts of queens, brooklyn, and the bronx. On the side it said it took about 2,000 pencils, and four years to finish. If it was to be sold, do you think $200 or less (approximate price of materials) is a fair price for it? I don't.
