About ACK's message (that is off topic btw...)
Over here you are also allowed to shoot an intruder for self defence. =\ /me thinks you live in a ' stupid ' country/state/province, if the law doesn't allow you to stand up for yourself.
What you are saying is: If someone is stealing something from you, you may not do anything about it, because that would make it worse and then you could get a worse punishment.
You can rent this signature for 2 euros/month.

I think you misinterpret me. If he attacks me to try to get money, I'll clean his clock. I'm not just going to go up to him and punch his lights out.

Actually most places allow for you to "stand up for yourself" just to differing degrees, here in England it's pretty much what it takes to stop them as long ayou don't damage any important areas (i.e the torso and head). Personally I think some of the laws that allow for extreme defence are stupid; would you get the death sentence for stealing a T.V? So why's the guy who owns it allowed to enforce the death sentence without judge or jury?

Too bad there is no instantly-activateable FRAPS for real life. I would have enjoyed watching that.

PointlessAmbler | He then started telling me that I had better pay him some amount of money or he'd call the cops on me, or sue me, or both.
|
At that point you give him the finger and walk away. He ran into you.
