Well, I was walking home from school today, and some guy on a bike yelled for me to get out of the way. I raised my saxophone (I'm in the school band) to get it out of the way of this guy, but the timing was off, and he plowed right into it, knocking him off the bike. I went over him and asked him repeatedly if he was all right, and if he needed help up. He didn't respond, and after a minute or so was able to lift himself up. He then started telling me that I had better pay him some amount of money or he'd call the cops on me, or sue me, or both. I told him I was sorry, but he continued. Finally, I reached into my wallet to get him to leave me alone, but I didn't have any money, so he was all "You better have $20 by Monday or I'm calling the cops." I said "Whatever." and he got on his bike and left and I finished walking home. So, what do you think I should do? I don't think he has a case, and I really don't want to pay this idiot (who didn't even really bother to brake) any money, but on the other hand, I don't want this to turn into a big ugly issue. What's your advice? Pay him the money or just ignore this guy?
PS. I don't think anything was broken. He was able to get up in a second. He also seemed to have tough skin; that is, there wasn't any blood. I'm sure it was painful, but I made it very clear that I was sorry, and he didn't seem to really need any medical attention or even any bandages. Plus, he has no legal grounds anyway
EDIT: Sarcasm is difficult to detect over the Internet, so I added a few things to reinforce the meaning here.

Honestly, who broke the law? Him or you? Him, obviously. He's manacing you, he wants money in exchange of some "peace of mind" for you, let him go tell the cops, by doing so he'll be falling in his own trap.
I suck cock and love it... absolutely love it. And I just got banned for being too immature to be allowed to post here.

I forgot to add the  at the end. Whoops. LOL.
He was riding ON THE SIDEWALK. (Check One. If he calls the 'cops,' he'll just get a citation.)
He didn't even bother to brake.
I considered giving him money just to make him go away, but I didn't have any, and I'm not going to let this guy extort money out of me, especially when he broke the law to run headfirst into my (thankfully well-built) saxophone case. He wasn't badly beat-up, either. So, I know he has no legal ground for doing this.
Too bad leaving out one emoticon can seriously change how people respond, heheh.

umm... I am no legal expert, but I think that DNA testing for a case of nearly hit by a bike is out of the question, unless it was a GTA San Andes bike incedent...
No. Seriously. No.
