OK recently I formatted my PC and I lost the no cd patch for renegade by djlaptop.
I can't remember where I got the damn thing from if anyone can point me to it that would be great thanks.

Yes, you can use the no-cd with RenGuard. RenGuard doesn't do any kind of CD checks, AFAIK, it only checks outgoing network packets.
There was a time when people were impressed that I have the firepower to decimate a planet in under 10 minutes.

It doesn't check outgoing network packets. It checks the files inside your Renegade & Data folder and compares them to a list of known "good" checksums. djlaptop's no cd patch is verified as a "good" file, so is compatible with RenGuard.
