Obvisouly, your game2.exe is corrupt or missing. The CP1 beta did not touch this at all.

Obtain a new game2.exe (e.g from the how to install renegade thread here) and put it in - should work just fine.

Yeah it's ok, my system got messed up in the early betas too, so I just bought another PC and apartment with new phonelines (You know, just to avoid any electric distortions the issue might have caused), and reinstalled Renegade. Works well now, I guess I just freaked out a little.
