Instead of locking the topics, can the moderators please edit the offending posts, no point closing the entire discussion as a few people dont know how to take part in a discussion, and take 'constructive critism' to the levels of iggnorence and immaturity.

Yeah, it seems some people post junk in the threads simply because they want to get them locked.
Locking is useful only when the thread has been junk since the start.
If somebody posts junk (spam flames etc), they should get their posts edited, then if offence is repeated, the post is deleted and should get a warning in PM. If the user still manages to commit offence for the 3rd time, that user is banned.
