You know, it's great and all that you don't believe me, but you'll have to ask yourself - are you just showboating, or do you have a real credible case?

There is no inherent logic in "you cheated before, so you must be cheating from now on" OR "you cheated before, so you might do it again." That's such a fallacy, one thing in and of itself does not immediately lead to the conclusion that something else will happen because of it. If I gamble at a casino, and spend $100 on blackjack and get a payout of $1,000... With your logic, I would spend that $1,000 and continue to spend any money I earned until I had nothing left, simply because I did it once.

If I cheat, as I said, it is to extact revenge. Not to go around in every server, going "lollers i pwn u noobs" while destroying everything with a rifle soldier... I have no vested interest in cheating on a regular basis, I do it rarely (speaking in the interval of eight months or more per incident) as a way to get that "I nailed that bastard" feeling. If someone does something to you, and your only choices of action are to do nothing, or hit them where it hurts, I choose the latter. It isn't really damaging, it causes no property destruction nor does it cause monetary loss. It's just a way of going "haha, I can do this and you can't do shit about it" to remove a nagging sense of wanting to kick them in the balls. If I can't do that, I'll do the next best thing.

Surely if someone attacked you in a forum, you would respond in kind. Or say something, right? Just the action of defending yourself could be correlated with cheating in a server whose admins insulted you, or did something to people you care about. So yes, while this is rationalization, it's simply to point out that the action of this stupid insult fest we're having is just as bad as going into a server and cheating - they produce the same result, pissed off people who hold grudges against someone... Just in different methods.

But thank you for the compliment on saying I was a "notorious suspected cheater," since I know that the mediocre skill I held in Renegade allowed people to think I was playing better than I believe I do.

The log proves nothing except that I admit to having things that I will not share.

We don't ban people from the RenGuard network for cheating. We ban them when (and if) they get around RenGuard. He didn't do that, though we certainly do not condone cheating in ANY server.

I'm the bawss.

So let me get this straight Ack. If I make a cheat and use it just in RenAlert, its ok?

To Crimson....MY ASS. Sorry I cant find the post to quote you on it directly. You have stated on the Renstation Forum in the Mod section, "I know people that use cheats and you would never find out." You said something very close to those words in the aftermath of Renstation removing RenGuard.

Exactly, I have never attempted to bypass RenGuard (I am clueless when it comes to programming, as I've said many times) and very rarely cheat, and only then to piss off a certain group of people.

PermaGrin, if you want me to have you banned from all legitimate RA servers, sure... It's perfectly acceptable to use it, but be prepared to face the consequences. I knew what would, and will, happen if I cheated and I don't really give a damn. I got what I wanted from pissing off BC and that's why I did it. Smile

There is no logic in that, true. Look on another level, it's a matter of trust. If you find out your lover or your friend is cheating you, don't try to find any logic in it.

Wrong, there is another solution, quite obvious, I quote you again:

Quote:

I DON'T CARE... Why? They can go somewhere else, it's simply a game that allows you to choose different servers. Big fucking deal.

So just go semewhere else. Don't annoy a group of players because of a personal thing you had with someone who pissed you off. As you stated in the logs, some of those players believe the "host" is to blame, which is no fun at all, I've experienced it. They come to play, not to learn what are the latest news on hacks and cheats.

Now I won't post anymore on this matter. I admit your are very interresting, you brought some views that will make me think. But I can't trust you ... which sincerly we don't care. I just hope BHS will take a good decision regarding your acts.

BHS won't do anything to me, first of all, since I don't represent BHS and neither does anyone but the "central leadership" consisting of Crimson, Blazer, and mac. They are the only ones who truly represent BHS as a whole, and if they were cheating I could see your point.

There's a pretty big difference between spouses finding another man to have sex with, and just trying to get back at someone for saying shit to you online. As you well know, a lot of adultery\cheating-on-people has to do with lust, desire for something normally unattainable, etc... It has little to do with trying to piss someone off, that shit normally happens in soap operas. The Internet is a perplexing situation, people can say whatever they want with little fear of retaliation. Some asshole punk can say anything he wants to me, and try to get away with it... If he were here in public, I'd bash his face in. Since I couldn't do that to BC, especially Scrumfy, I chose to do what I could and cheat in their servers. I assure you that the cheating was not done because I'm incompetent at the game. You can check my records at the pits and see I keep a consistent K\D ratio of 5.0+, normally 6.0 to 8.0 out of hundreds of games, scoring over 3,000 kills averaged per month... All with RenGuard on. I don't need to cheat to play well.

So yes, I did go somewhere else. They just didn't do the same, felt it necessar yto bash myself, Crimson, Blazer, mac, AND RenGuard... So I did what I felt was necessary to give them a kick in the balls. I remember them saying "no one can cheat in our servers," yet there I was, fucking up the Nod terminals with my GDI rifle soldier...

How can you not trust me? I came right out and told you exactly what I did. If I said "I don't cheat" and then proceeded to cheat like a motherfucker I could very well understand why you wouldn't trust me, but hey... To each their own.

This 'hack' is VERY annoying. It just disables the PT's for everyone in-game if some n00b joined the game who has it.

I just wanted to clarify that there isn't a file or hack that lets someone join and all the PTs are instantly disabled. It is simply an ammo hack and the cheater has to go and actually shoot at all the enemy PTs.

Again, RenGuard stops this.

I didn't say I condoned it. I meant that I've read posts from people. Anyone who knows how to edit the files that let you cheat can make slight modifications and other changes to pass any "test" a moderator might want to give them. But... RenGuard stops all of them.

So, what is this? Another scare tactic for trying to force us to use your software? Or just another member of BHS that say they want to help but end up showing the community their true colors. This "company" has some serious etiquette problems it needs to adjust.

I mean, come on. You say you are out to stop all cheaters, yet you only care if they cheat on servers using your software? Do your arms of love stop when they finish wrapping around those servers that have chosen to use your software?

So that's it Crimson? "We don't condone cheating, and we're sorry that a member of our team likes to do it once in a while" ?

Honestly, I don't mean to continue to go on like this.. but out of all the things that have gone on in the last 2.5 years, this "acknowledgement" really left me quite pissed , but also perplexed.. Perplexed at how this company, that is supposed to be at the front of all our problems, making Renegade better (and cheat free) in to the future, would continue to sweep all this type of dirt under the rug and simply "move on".. I know we've had these conversations before.. where does it all end? When the communty simply shuts up and ignores it all too?

i simply don't understand how any member of bhs can honestly expect someone to take them seriously after something like this. people who support anti-cheating programs should, of all people, not cheat.

In your opinion, which isn't worth very much considering all you've done for a vast amount of time is bash myself or anyone associated with me simply because you don't like us, or what we do.

If we had to ban all who ever cheated or ever created a cheat (obj3cts and such) then I don't think there would be many members left here (sad fact).

We provide you an anti-cheat solution. If you decline to USE the solution, then what else are we supposed to do? How can we care about servers that don't run RenGuard? You have a perfectly attainable solution to cheating available to you free of charge... if you don't use it, then we simply can't help you. I mean, I care about the servers running this game, but we can't help you with a cheater problem if you refuse to use the solution we have created for your problem. I thought this was common sense.

I agree it was really fucking stupid what he did, and I already told him that, but ACK isn't involved in anything BHS except sitting in the private channel talking about the game. He doesn't make any decisions, nor does he develop any of our products, nor does he speak for BHS (only Blazer, mac, and myself do that)... so what difference does this really make?

Either way, mac, Blazer, and I are discussing what we want to do about this.
