I am definately betting on something this week, I am the luckiest of lucky. (Ok, maybe not the luckiest, but it's still a sweet camera.)
Last week I drove to a nearby town. The town is surrounded by tall hills and mountains, and you can have a very pleasant hike down any of the numerous trails there. Anyhoo, I was climbing one trail and enjoying the good weather when I saw what looked like a silver box. When I approached, I saw it was a digital camera. Score!
It's a 3.3 mpixel powershot S20! Slightly scuffed, but otherwise fine. It rained the next day, so I was really lucky to get there when I did. When I got home, I also saw it had a 300 mb flash media card inside! This is like a 300 dollar value, (ish) I pity the fool who dropped it so carelessly. I hooked it up to my computer with the aid of a friend who has a similar model, and Canon, being the big company that it is, just happens to use the same USB cable for most of their cameras. Gotta love it. Anyway, just wanted to share. It also had some cool pictures of the large forest nearby one of the trails on it, and though I've never been in the area depicted, I have flown over the tower shown in one of the pictures. Those I'm putting those up in this thread, hence the warning to 56k users. Some of them are kind of blurry, but I felt like being thorough. (sp?) I don't have my own hosting, so I resized these and compressed them to avoid straining good ol' image shack.
Some awesome shots, though I don't think the skill level of the photos coincides with the price/abilities of the camera. Aircraftkiller, you being our photos guru, care to comment?
Thanks for wasting however many seconds of your life it took to read/look at all the pretty pictures.

Pictures are indeed wonderful, I wouldn't even give it to anyone else.
Mind to tell us where this place is? It's quite insane, maybe I could stop nearby in a few years to take pictures on a foggy day like this one, it's just... Damn. I've been looking for that kind of quality for years now, you are a really lucky person.
I suck cock and love it... absolutely love it. And I just got banned for being too immature to be allowed to post here.

Aircraftkiller | Some of those images look beyond fucked up. I can almost feel evil in the air from looking at them, gives me a creepy feeling. It's almost like the camera owner was running from something. Why the fuck else would he leave a camera like that in a forest that looks spooky as hell?
|
Hmm I had that same impression when I looked at them. Especially the ones with the motion blur on them.
That forest looks creepy.

Umbral_DelaFlare | Take a look at the mirror on the left.
There's something incredibly uncomfortable about those woods...great pictures, though.

I don't think that's a mirror, looks more like a painting to me, but that house it is in seems to be inverted maybe five times.
Yes, I also recommend printing a couple of those pictures with the silhouette in it and showing them to the police, tarsonis.
Now, my rationale for why this camera has the pics that it does is some kids were out making reference shots for a horror movie, reminiscent of the Blare Witch Project.
However, I still think you should go to the police and tell them what you found, I bet those kids are probably aching to have their camera back. It was a lucky find, but something that expensive I think should be handed back.
