Which old forum posts (besides the Mod Forum) should be revived?[ 53 votes ]
1. Only the Mod Forum! 27 / 51%
2. All of them! 13 / 25%
3. Tactics&Strategies 2 / 4%
4. Clan Forum 1 / 2%
5. General Forum 2 / 4%
6. All of them except for the General Forum (no spam kthnx) 8 / 15%

I am working on a program to place the old forum posts into the database. This means essentiall all the posts from the old forum would reappear, with their origional dates and poster names (even if the names are not registered here).

In my opinion ONLY THE MOD FORUM posts are worth bringing back, due to the many helpful posts, tutorials, questions etc. I will definitely bring back the Mod Forum posts, but am unsure as to whether any of the other forum posts are worth the bother.

So vote on what forums old posts you want back.

Why would we need any other than the mod forum? Most of the info there is already documented somewhere else though.

Well I say look through the old posts and see what is worth while. Not everything in a particular forum is useful. Slowly sort through them and decide is it worth it or is it trash. And I don't say you should focus on one forum in particular.

I vote for just the mod forum...

Only the Mod Forum! 64% [ 9 ]

Very Happy

That's the only forum that had useful info in it.

So you're going to create an archive forum to put these posts in? (like "Archived: Mod Forum"? )

Sir Phoenixx

So you're going to create an archive forum to put these posts in? (like "Archived: Mod Forum"? )

No, they will be merged into the current mod forum, with their orig. dates. So basically more pages of old posts will appear.

i think only the mod forum is worth bringing over, but even it needs to be gone through with a fine tooth comb and elimante spam posts, duplicate posts, flame wars, etc.

Well, if they're going to be put behind the current posts, there's no reason not to convert all of the old forum content over.

Will the post be added to an new baord like 'Old Mod topics' ???
Because I fear it becames a bit confusing when the old and ne contents will be merged together.

And I fear even if the Mod forum is implemeted the people will ask the same old questions instead of using search Razz

Anyways I vote for only Modforum.

I am definitely bringing back the Mod forum. The posts wont push the new posts back....they will have the orig dates so there will be just a bunch of old posts suddenly appear. Once they are there, I can easily go through and delete truly junk topics.

Lets see how the Mod forum import goes. If the process is easy I may import other sections too and then delete the junk topics.

yeah, mod forums for sure, though you should keep the gnome topic in there. It's all spam or atleast after the first page, but its a topic 90% of the old Renegade forums members will remember. Smile

The "replies" field will be filled in automatically once the thread is viewed. This was an unbelievable effort on Blazer's part to get the posts imported and that was the one bug he decided to live with.
