I would only recommend something that captures 24 FPS. Movies going 60 FPS can be really hard to work with when combining with other footage.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

The VCR trick is by far the easiest to set up and manage.
There was a time when people were impressed that I have the firepower to decimate a planet in under 10 minutes.

Too bad you don't get to record sound though. You have to register in order to get sound recording.

This is really the best way to capture...If persformance is critical:
I have a small shuttle PC with a video capture port, I use the video out on my x800 xt to do video to output to the video-in of shuttle and then play on my regular monitor.
Then on my shuttle I tell it to capture video.
Basically ya, its kinda expensive, but its the best way if you don't want to suffer a performance loss while playing your game.
Another way is to get the LiteOn DVD-R standalone recorder for 239.99 its got DVI INPUT, so if you have a card with dual output you could record in pure digital and in 720x480 (16:9) or 640x480 (4:3) resolution in realtime.

What the hell is with this "omg Fraps records at 15 fps" thing?
I have Fraps 2.0 and it records at 30 fps STEADY with no problems at all. If I set it to record sound, then it records at 25 fps. Either you guys have out-dated computers or you don't know how to use the settings in Fraps.
Fraps does not suck.

30 FPS is unplayable for me, retard.
|
That doesn't change the fact that you said it records at 15 fps.
30 fps in unplayable for me, too, but since we both have nearly IDENTICAL computers, do you really have to call me a retard for that?
The average fps for a movie is 30 fps. That is why 30 fps is suitable. Also, is 30 fps really THAT bad?

I wouldnt think that 30 FPS would really be that bad, since I can play quite normally on 15 FPS, so I can only hope to get 30.

I used to have a shitty computer that averaged at 15 - 20 fps, and I owned at sniping. I'm actually worse at sniping with this speed machine. So yeah, 30 fps does not suck.
I tried that Game Cam software, I recorded at 70 fps but the movie turned out worse than what Fraps records at. Plus, the mouse arrow was showing, w00t. I still prefer Fraps.
