Why does XCC Mixer open two copies of itself when I execute it and just keep grinding away forever?

There was a time when people were impressed that I have the firepower to decimate a planet in under 10 minutes.

When you first open XXC mixer I belive it scans your computer for all contents. So it may appear to "Lock up" or "Freeze". It may even say its not responding. Give it time and it will eventually load correctly and you will beable to do as you wish with the program.

For the opening two copies.... dont click on the program more than twice? Razz

That's a given, the problem is it keeps going till if fills the page file and causes windows to shut it down. I guess I use RenX. The interface is crap and it can't sort by File Type(I only want the DDSes so I can make skins), but at least it works.

Ok well Then get RenegadeEX.
http://www.cncnz.com/file.cgi?http://downloads.cncnz.com/renegade/utils/rex_101_release_build74.zip

RenegadeEX does all that XXC mixer does and it preserves alpha channels for textures. So in a way its better. If you just trying to get a W3D out of the always.dat or a mix file you can use the W3D Importer to do that.

You can get it at http://www.renhelp.co.uk.

I have no problems with XCC mixer.

It used to lock up often when I diddnt have much ram, now the problems fixed and it loads up after a few seconds of searching.
