Renegade 2 test movies and screens! [message #10072]

I believe they changed their game in mid-development and turned it into Red Alert 2. I can't show you the leaked screenshots I have (Stuff that would knock your socks off.), but I can tell you a lot of it was beyond amazing - you can tell it was Red Alert 2 because of what they were slowly implementing into the test maps; Soviet Barracks, destruction animations for it, Battle Bunkers, and other assorted items.

As far as I recall, they only got the Soviet Barracks and the Battle Bunker done. The rest wasn't finished in time. Some vehicles were created as well - all of this was zipped up by Greg Hjelstrom and put on the Westwood FTP in the RENEGADEMODART.zip file.

Darn you and your unability to tell us. I wonder if you would get in trouble, if you just happened to email me all those screenshots instead of the Ren Alert beta, opps. Wink

I'd get a major lawsuit from EA's legal department and so would a friend of mine who used to design levels for Renegade.

Why would they care so much? It is a cancelled project, after all. EA has done it again. Confused

I found the website at archive.org. Apparently, the domain expired in 2005.

These are the only working pictures I could find. Didn't find any movies, however.
