Leopard, are you talking about the castle level right after you rescue the Dead 6?The one with a big Raveshaw statue and a light tank in the courtyard?
If so...
The scentists are deep within the castle, yes. Near the dining area (the place with a lot of wooden tables), you'll find a door that requires L1 (green) security access. Go through that door and you'll soon find the scientists.
Follow the objective compass (upper right paft of your screen) and you should be able to find the door quite easily. Keep heading down and towards the objective arrow.
The keycard for the door is located in the very top of the castle, in the room with all the computers. It appears there a short while after you hack or destroy the main computer thing (can't remember the details).
