If you can get a team that works together, try this...

Take all the armor that GDI always seems to ac***ulate outside the Nod base...

Rush the Obelisk. Get as close as you can and keep shooting the building.

I think that the discrepancy that everyone is seeing is based on the fact that for a three flame tank rush, not one of those flame tanks is afraid to sacrifice themself to take the building down after doing their damage.

Both base defenses, the Obelisk and the AGT, have a safe radius immediately around the building. If you get close enough - the building won't shoot you.

I've seen three medium tanks work just as well as three flame tanks, but I more often see a massive amount of GDI armor parked outside the Nod base afraid to get their shiny tank dinged. Who knew tank drivers could be so timid?

Just yesterday we did a flame tank rush on GDI. Saved up for the credits and then had all buy flametanks(up to limit), rushed the guard tower first then the other buildings with no regard to our own tanks health.

What I saw was that because we worked together and attacked the same target one after one, we managed to win the game in 5 min. Also people were not sitting on their hands with their shiny new tank.

A well working attack with tanks in front taking a pounding, a few eng's and artillery in the back, it usually goes well. If you add to that one or 2 people to attack the buildings at random forcing the enemy to assign engs. to repair them all, you can stress the enemy so much that a weak point will appear and then it is important that you press through, no matter how fine your dear tank looks. It needs to get dented if you want to win.

It is important that you realize the strengths of each weapon. Why artillery sometimes goes in front of the tanks, I don't understand, they need to be behind. Maybe because they sometimes are tired of looking at the tanks just sitting there.

Also frustrating was last night I was on NOD and we had destroyed the powerplant. As the next rush entered GDI were did they go???

They attacked the AGT! Without power the AGT is useless and as a target its pointless since it doesn't hamper GDI in the least. Anything else would have been worthwhile and more likely to succeed since the AGT is in the middle of the base where everyone can take shots at you.

As for the flame tanks, I'm "almost" in agreement they maybe too powerful. I rushed with 4 other people and we totaled GDI in 5 minutes. Everything.

However, on non-auto defense maps its not the flame tanks I'm worried about. Everytime I'm GDI I usually lose on those maps because of the stealth troopers and the nuke beacons.

You know, up until last night I feared the flame tank rush...

I was in a 6v6 game on a no defense map, and we had everything but our vehicle factory taken out by a flame rush while people on my team were beating their wangs doing god knows what. Well, they decided they'd help me defend the base finally. WE had 3 people repairing that factory like there was no tomorrow, one guy using kamikaze engineer tactics to take out all the tanks, and one guy in their base blowing **** up because they weren't around. Sad to say, we eventually WON by killing all the buildings, even though all we had was a vehicle factory, and no tanks because everyone was too busy repairing

It was because of this teamwork that we held, and eventually cut off, the mighty flame tank rush. It's not unbeatable.
