Did you know that when you die, your view spins around to show you who killed you? Take that few seconds to find the sniper who just capped you, then when you spawn, you can chase him down and empty a clip in his head. =)

Hehe, sniping. Thats just fun. Unless you get popped. I say just keep moving, if you stand still, *boink*. I like the guys that whine 'cheater', when they continuously get sniped, cause they keep going back to the same spot.

I just hate all snipers, period. They really aren't helping their team too much; snipers rarely contribute to a teams victory. I've seen almost half a team turn into snipers, and after shooting up their enemy, the enemy merely switched to tanks and killed them all. Snipers are almost useless except for scaring people and enhancing ratios. Supposedly ratios don't matter since this is a team game.

IMHO - having a few snipers helps --- keeps the engie growth down and lets the tanks roll - and they murder (ramjet) MLRS and Artie but your right - to many wont help in the long run. But a well placed one in the base helps keep down on the mad rushers....

I usually play sniper for at least a bit each game and I've found that while they won't win a game for you, they can certainly contribute. For example, I'll often switch to a sniper to pick off the techs that are supporting a tank rush leaving my tanks/rocket infantry free to work on the actual rush. And there's nothing more frustrating to an expensive infantry than getting sniped on the way to the opponent's base. (That whole "empty a clip in his head" thought from the first post.) Well, I normally try to clear out any persistent snipers for my team as well. Being a counter-sniper certainly helps your other teammates. Basically, I think snipers have a place just like any other unit, vehicles included. I do agree that a half-sniper team is just asking for a tank rush though.

Yes a team full of snipers will make your team lose, but a team with 1 or 2 exceptionally good snipers can be devestating to the opposing side. Especially the $500 sniper, since its hard to see where the shot came from. A sniper can be an extremely pesky distraction that can cost you time and effort to eliminate.

The sniper is the only way to go in an anti-infantry situation. They do nothing to stop tanks, but humvees and buggys are destroyed in 5-7 shots. The only problem w/ being a sniper is that once you get enough points to buy one, the opposition has taken to tanks. but in a battle of tanks, a sniper can determine the difference of a win, or a loss in the battle.

Snipers have an unseen effect on the game most of the time. When you have one or two decent snipers, they can stop infantry invasions from entering your base. Snipers are also good against MLRs and Artillery. I've taken out lightly armoured vehicles before they can become a threat. Snipers are also very good at taking out Engineers repairing vehicles. I love snipers, but I tend to leave that to other people. Snipers get jack for points.

i almost never play sniper cuz i'm not very good at it, but i can tell you that while they may not be the guys storming the enemy's base, they can keep you from losing the game by sniping the engies healing tanks while they move forward. a tanker doesn't like to move into a hard fought tank battle without a friendly engie behind him healing the tank as he moves forward. the bottom line is, if you keep sniping their engies it makes the other team more defensive, especially on maps that have few avenues of approach to your base. then your team can go on the offensive..

A few snipers in a medium to large sized game work wonders. It puts the enemy team on the defensive giving you the run of the battlefield. One thing about MRLS and other such small vehicles. DONT use your sniper ammo against them. If your in a decent hiding spot whip out your pistol and plug away with your unlimited ammo. Against lightly armored units this does do decent damage. And if its heavy armour just take out all its support and let the rest of your team deal with it. And one more thing, the best snipers have their volume CRANKED. Stealth tanks and black hands cant be seen, but oh boy can they be heard. Doesnt work in the middle of a fire-fight, but hey, it helps.

Being a sniper is good fun, especially when a group of people walk out of their base ready for an attack and begin to wonder why their buddies are falling down Snipers are important in a game, when your battling a mammoth tank and the enginer who is repairing him falls silently to the ground, that is the work of a sniper. The only problem, other then falling to the hands of a player who got behind you (what I did to a sniper the first time I played the demo ), is LAG, the ultimate enemy to a sniper. To kill what you think is a player only to find that it is a ghost of him and the real player has ducked into a tunnel or gotten past you is VERY anoying.

Snipers get great points providing they hit good money targets, just like anyone else. If all you ever use a sniper for is killing engies, of course you're not going to get points: it's a free unit you're killing, so you're not really damaging them economically. You're only preventing the repair. If you want points, shoot light vehicles or stuff like Black Hands/Raveshaw/Mobius/Sakura/etc. People always build those, and you can really help your vehicles out by removing Raveshaws and P.I.C. Sydneys.

Some snipers can take down moving targets. I've seen it before. Someone was skip/jump/bobbing back to base and was killed before he made it to safety. There is no real defense against snipers, except to snipe them, or at least blast them away with armor...

I love being a sniper, scares the sh1t out of everyone, but on the other hand Ive had people get mighty p1ssed at me, I killed the same guy like 3 times in a row, and he ran after me with a Med. Tank, thankfully it was on the Under map and I hide behind the rocks, but yet he was persistant in killing me, then a poor NOD basic soldier ran in and lured him away. All in all though, sniping increases your kill record drastically and it screws with MRLS/Artillary and Humvee/Buggy's minds cuz they die mysteriously +op
