.......idea, instead of War Stories, war complaints!!! My complaint is that tonight, (cdman98, u were in this game) I was playing on city, little did I know that I was cursed to play with the biggest group of morons on the planet. Well, the game started off well, so then I go and become a medium tank, and I shell the Nod refinery just to get some pot shot points, then I hear GDI weapons factory under attack, so I turn around (tank explodes then), so I suicide to get back to base), war factory is dead by now. I become an engineer and am on base defense for the rest of the game. I keep on telling everyone on my team to keep up a decent base defense, I get no responses. So along comes this flame tank, he starts to torch the refinery, and god knows where my teammates were, they weren't in the base. So I run on over only to get sniped from a black hand, refinery destroyed. By this time I'm fuming and demanding that more people get on defense, no answers. So I'm a hotwire, I mine the power plant, head on over to the barracks to mine that, flame tank comes and attacks the AGT. technician runs out and gets inside AGT, buddy stays in flame tank and blocks entrance, not much I could do, AGT destroyed. Then, THEN, someone on my team blares out on the communications "**** GD you suck at defense." WTF This had to be the biggest team of n00bs that had ever graced the earth. Our power then died soon after the AGT, and all that was left was our barracks. I am a hotwire, I DECLARE that I can handle the barracks repairs and that everyone else take care of Nod outside. Well, Nod attacks, flame tank, I am handling the repairs fine, barracks hasn't taken any damage, FIVE OTHER PEOPLE come over as engineers and "help" repair the master control terminal, I HAD IT BY MYSELF. Then I hear nuke beacon go off, so I go to find it, I get ran over, nuke goes off, Nod wins. NEXT GAME, i see typed "GD i thought u were supposed to be repairing??!?! you suck dude!" AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I HATE NEWBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [ March 16, 2002: Message edited by: GDSlavik ]

I hate that and a very lagy WOL server on a ladder match. I can get ping in the thousands on my >4M connection on the band width test.

I'm almost always 3/4 of my team's defense when we're GDI. A medium tank and/or gunner will prove quite lethal to any incoming armored attacks.

i find most people care about offense way too much. they fail to realize that a few extra points during the game doesn't mean much if you lose and end up getting a negative ladder score. a bit more defense might have gotten their whole team a win and a positive ladder score.

The voice commands I hate hearing most while on defense: 1. Building needs repair! Yes, I heard the "INSERT_BUILDING_HERE under attack" message. I don't need someone who's on the other side of the map tell me that I need to repair the power plant that just got hit by stray pistol fire. It's morons like these that do the most damage. Ever heard of the boy who cried wolf? 2. I need repairs! Yes, you probably do. But I'm not running around the entire map looking for you. Use this once, then quickly type where you are. "At Base", "Tiberium Field", "Enemy Base". It's not hard. I'll do my best to get there if I'm anywhere near. But I won't even bother with people who spam this every 5 seconds.

everytime he died, he took a tank (including one I bought), drives to the enemy base, just to get killed...
then he blames me for bothering him, jezus, if you just want to blow stuff up, go play the single play, but noo, n00b wanted to bore ME, so the other 2 guys on the nod side came in with a flank+arty.. guess what the n00b does?
nothing, he goes sitting behind a 'flat' and occasionally strafes and shoots couple of machinegun rounds at the arty... i buy a med. tank, guess what; the n00b must have thought, hey, thats nice of him.
he drives to the arty, while COMPLETELY IGNORING THE FLANK!
i really had this feeling like: omg, this truly is the most wortless, incompetent fool i have ever played with...
then, i did something i wanted to do for a long time, i kicked him form the server, just after saying: get some multiplyer practice and LEARN how to play...

Once I saw five artillery turtle on the side-hill in Under. Our n00bish team decided to rush with meds, and ignore the laser dudes on the hill. They sat there and dueled with mobile artillery and were shredded to pieces by the laser people. Never seen 4 mammoths die so fast before...

so true. i joined a game today on the city map. when i got there nod was losing 300 to 6 or some lop sided score like that. i was the only one in the base and the tr was about half gone with a mammy shelling it. i repaired it while the mammy kept firing away. then it stopped and i heard pp under attack and by the time i got to it, it was half gone as well. i sat there healing it under intense firing but finally got it repaired after the mrls was dispatched or retreated. for several minutes i just kept running from building to building with no help until finally someone else bought a tech and helped me out. somebody on our team must have known what they were doing as i kept hearing that gdi buildings were under attack and then destroyed(sounds like gdi had the same lack of defense that we did). anyway, we finally won the game as their last building fell. it's so satisfying to feel like i contributed to the victory!

In one game I even got MVP as a dedicated Eng/Tech. Every one is just charging toward GDI base while a mammoth is pounding the Hand with poor me repairing it from inside. Forturnally Nod won the match by like 100 points. The proxy mine I lay abound the MCT killed so many Hotwire and Mobius. They don't care about the base.

I think the greatest game I ever played was with the entire team attacking except for me (InfidelV) as a hotwire and another guy as a Havoc. It was that really dark map with side tunnels and stupid harvesters which run into walls (I cant remember name  ) anyways we defended the entire base, if someone came through the tunnels I kept the Havoc at full and he pumped em full of it. Our AGT was still standing, as was everything else. I ac***ulated +6000 cash and when my team got slaughtered at the enemies gates they came back to find me handing out mammoths for free. With all of our units as mammoths and the troops as Sydneys or other 1000 units we massacred them. I think THAT is teamwork. Why can't anyone else realize this?

I just hate playing GDI on islands... If you play GDI then you are stuck with the worst bunch of people imaginible... I go hotwire as soon as possible and mine the underground entrances, thinking that my team mates with their superior armor could hold the water ford... (I was wrong.) We had 3-4 mammoths and stealth black hand guys just walked right past the mammoths... I am running around the base, defusing nuke after nuke until finally the fourth nuke blows the refinery... My team starts yelling about defense... (Not surprisingly I am the only one defending...) The factory goes next, and more whining and quitting erupts... Some newbie got out of his mammy and guess what? Nod got it! The other mammoths were newbies too so only one noticed that they were dying and shot back... After the mammoths were gone, the barracks fell in short order... (At least I was the MVP so I did not lose any ladder points...)

I have to admit newbs are annoying. One time this guy asked everyone on our team how to buy a vehicle. I thought to myself what an idiot he somehow knows how to chat and doesn't know how to buy vehicles!!!!  But newbies are people too. You guys were new to a game once (which is true). But some people out there don't have common sense, those i don't have the least of pity on. Newbs are annoying but you have to live with them (sadly).

Newbies say the darndest things pt. 2: Map - Hourglass I had just joined, and my team, GDI, was down by about 3000 points. There was this one kid, who kept on going into the tunnels. If you know this map, then you know that the tunnels do absolutely NOTHING for this map. Well, Nod kept attacking with flame tanks and artillery from the sides and we had a very small team of engineers behind to repair. Know why? Cause this guy kept on yeling "I NEED SUPPORT IN THE TUNNELS!" I tried telling him that the tunnels had no significance and that he needs to come back to regroup. So he says this, and i QUOTE: "STFU GDSLAVIK, we can take out thier turrets from here!"..........Well, thank god for that! Nod won't be able to do crap without thier turrets now will they! The REALLY irritating thing is they were all listening to him and not anyone else. Nod eventually ran us down with a huge flame rush from both sides, the moron in the tunnels towards the end of the game says: "wtf happened, can't you guys fight?!" AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

for those of us who play defense most or all the time.. do you ever find that when you give in to that craving to buy a flamer or mammy and just go kill something that the base falls almost immediately after you leave? heck, i don't wanna defend all the d@mn time! so come on attackers. take your turn on defense once in awhile.. lol

played about 6 rounds last night and yeah, that happens. I still managed to score positive or 0 on every map though so I don't mind. I really like playing defense now. But one game last night I broke down on WALLS and bought an arty to ice thier ref, when I got back to the base I had to defuse a beacon while hopping all over the place and the rest of my team ate popcorn and watched as the black hand was pelting me... its kinda frustrating, because you don't have time to type a msg at that point... I find that I can place 1st with or without teamwork so I am one of the few that thinks the ladder scoring works quite well, if you play defense and defuse 3 or 4 beacons.. thats 900-1200 points right there, so if you mine correctly and then direct you can do quite well... Also remember to remind any snipers on your team to REPORT ENEMY POSITIONS... that kills me when 3 aqcs come over the bridge in city and i'm like "what!! no one saw that coming!!" I mean ****... a little warning would be nice
