Stopping the flame tank rush is just as simple as using GDI's power to dominate the battlefield. The only time a flame rush seems to truly work is when there is no tanks in the field...if there is, you'll find that the flame tanks will either retreat to their engies after being damaged, or attack you and either get destroyed or heavily damaged before your tank is destroyed.

Just get two MRLS's in the field relatively near each other and close to the base entrance so that one Hotwire can repair both. Then have two medium tanks to help guard the MRLS's and clean the battlefield. Whenever they need repairs, they can just go to the MRLS's to be repaired.

All of these uits can be bought with 800 credits or less, which is the cost of the flame tank. If you continually dominate the field, NOD will be too busy trying to clear you from the battlefield to flame rush. And if they do try to rush, you can damage them heavily, then return to base when and if you are killed.

Honestly, all it takes to defend a teamwork flame rush is to beat it with teamwork defense. If you can just convince the people in the server (including yourself ) to not try to only buy APC's for rushing and Mammy's for power, then you should be fine.

This is absolutely true. I've mentioned several times that having a few MRL's out in front (especially on Field) will stop any flame rush from success. You can hit the flamers right as they come out of the Nod Entrance.....
of course, this can ALSO be countered by a few good Arty's at the nod entrance blowing the crap out of your MRL's...so there's always a catch.

Problem with MRLs is that a Nod sniper could sneak outta anywhere and start chipping away at them. Heck, 2 - 5 shots and ..bye bye MRL, which means you should have them counter defended from hidden snipers. Same goes for Nod, I was Deadeye and took out 2 MAs playing under very easily just by hiding in a good spot, never saw it coming.

the point is that there is a counter for anything. no one thing will or should work all the time. thus, the best(or should i say the least crappiest) team wins! lol..

but i'll still wager anyone here a dollar that at some point, say less than 3 months, ww DOES indeed do some tweaking of the ft to make it slightly weaker. any takers??

I agree, i think they need to switch it up a bit, the flame tank should be more effective on the infantry and less effective on buildings.

i think they'll make it less effective on armor like it was in the original c&c, especially now that the new a/c are coming out which will help nod with armor killing ability. i agree with you that it should be more effective on inf though...

Reducing the power of the flame tank is a bad idea because:

1.) Against a mammoth or a medium tank you stand only a chance if you approach him

a) unnoticed untill you get in range of fire and

b) You have full health and armor. If someone scratches your paint before you reach your target you loose.

Conclusion:
A flame tank will always loose if seen early and if the other tankdriver isnn´t a complete newbie. You loose even against a Mrls if spotted early because of their firepower.

2.) Without the flametank Nod has no good anti-mammoth tank. If there is a mammoth camp and gdi has good snipers who take care of the laser chain gun soldiers and MA´s the flame tank is the only hope to get out of this situation alive because some hotwires repair the mammoths faster than the light tanks damaging it.

all good points. and i'm not in favor of changing the ft, just that i think there may be enough griping by those that want it weakened for ww to make a change in the future. i could be wrong and usually am. lol..

I do believe that aircraft will balance this out a little, at least on those maps with aircraft. Since it is almost always going to be out of range of a FT, and can see one coming from much farther off, it might take a little of the bite from them (unless of course, you're picked out of the sky in seconds by a ramjet rifle, as the beta testers seem to point out again and again.....there are going to be a lot more Havocs and Sakura's out there)
