Not spaming radio commands can be a good tactic! [message #-969890] Wed, 22 May 2002 06:38 Go to next message

I dont know if this has been said before but by spamming on the radio commands can prove very usefull to the enemy and can offten make your team lose...sound strange? read on....

I was playing today and the enemy had just deployed a beacon and I was trying to listen to the ticking o find the beacon BUT I couldnt find it due to ever n00b spamming "Defend the base" (CTRL + ALT and 6) as many times as they could this went on untill the Ion Cannon came down and bye bye Tiberian Refinery, but if my n00bish teammates had just STFU I would have probally found the beacon and may have disarmed it, another thing WHY tell us to disarm the beacon? anyoneout side base wont come all the way back and any free units will change to an eny/tech and techs will seek out the beacons as soon as they can, you are just ****ing things up.

Another thing when we are attackted after the message (example) GDI PP under attack WFT do n00bs spam 101 times Defend the Power plant? are people so think that they dont understand that that we herd the firs time or someting?

.... i got more to say but I need to go now so ill post more later.

Super Dan actually has a point. By radio spamming you might lose a vital "typed" message in the flood.

It would be pretty stupid if somebody found the beacon and "radioed" it in. Then some lamer spames ones ears full of bull you don’t really need.

So only radio in once.

Personally I hate the “I need repair” (ALT+2 (for the newbe spirit)) nobody is goanna run faster to help one that spams that message, more likely nobody will come to you aid, I know I wont.

Ohh….. and to stay in the spamming world, what good is this please tell me.

Yeah, I really hate radio spamming also. It's so frustrating when you are trying to give orders to people on the same team as you.
Only to have your commands blotted out by one or two players.

"I need repairs"
"I need repairs"
"I need repairs"

Or

"Building needs repairs"
"Building needs repairs"
"Building needs repairs"

Over and over.

Then you ask the person to please stop and they come back with some witty remark like.
"Make me you n00b."

I think Westwood should address this issue.
Since it is fairly frustrating.

Well i have my own way of telling something.
When a building is a little damged i say

Building needs repair!

When its real demaged i say

Building needs repair!
Building needs repair!

And when its in the dead zone

i almost spam

Building needs repair
Building needs repair
Building needs repair
Building needs repair

But it seems to get ppls attention

And when there is an incoming tanks i say where it is and what it is, then i go

Defend the base
Destroy that vehicle
Destroy it now

Thats it hehe

I type everything.

"FLAMER!"
"APC rush PP!"
"Repair the darn building you morons!"

I only use the 3rd one if my team's really really really a bunch of idiots. That really sucks. But really, where in the world do they go? They just dissapear! It's not that big a map! Are they all hiding?

Remember, it's ALT + 1, not ALT + 2. ALT + 2 = "Take the point!"

It would have been nicer if WW made it so when someone spammed the same thing as many times as possable it is only said and dispalyed once, I never say building need repair when the message "GDI XXXX is under attack" beause I hope that my team are not as thick as ****

To Corsair_734:

I have no problem with the radio commands, they prove very usefull to get you point accross clearly and fast, also if you spelling is as bad as mine it wont leave your teammates saying "WTF does that mean?" I just cant stand people spamming out crap that isin't needed
