What I mean by that is tossing C4 infront of an attacker and detonating it under their feet or in some proximity of them. I use it alot and it is very effective. Please, nobody that ruined the last one post here, I'm just polling people to see how popular this strat is. I don't want any mine limit, WL, or any of that other mumbo jumbo; just comments of remote charges.

There. You have phrased yourself so much better. Once again, I do use this strategy and I call it my "Tossed C4 of DEATH". It is to be feared. Why is it a cool strategy? First, splash damage... don't have to be quite as accurate. Second, it packs one hell of a punch... especially if you can manage to hit them in the head with it.

It's very good if you get your barracks/hand destroyed, just pick an engy and use the remote C4 in place of proxies (refilling as needed at the PTs), although this means you'll have to stay in the building you're defending, but it's amazing how long you can keep a building alive this way.

And the "Snipers" are the best(to kill)..... crouch(silent) plant and run...It takes some time to do (depending on the map) but it works... or the ole plant c4 -r's on a tech.. send him-her(As a decoy) in Blammo!! (take out the AGT-OB) Tactics win...not the rush.. Unless the OPFOR has no-tactics.... lol [ June 06, 2002: Message edited by: ID_Ghost ]

I like to control the bang...and be far away when it goes off. So yes, remote is better. Prox is good if you need a quic fix to a bad guy, just toss it and it does all the hard stuff. Remote, on the other hand...remote c4 is fun...plant it on tanks, snipers, beacon planters, anything enemy...and watch from afar as you press the "little red button"

I like timed c4. Drop it in a spot where there is alot of enemy traffic. On feild tonite I got into a game where we (NOD) had lost the refinery so I became an Engy and went to the tunnels. placing my remotes and timed c4. I killed alot of people with each but the timed kills are sweet because you don't even see the kill. Also if you die you can still count on the c4 detonating. By the time I had any spending money we had lost the hand to the ussual Mammouth camp. I killed the same sniper 4 times and a few friends of his to boot. I died about 6 times but had 15 kills as an engy. Pistol poppin and c4 droppin.

Yeah, remote c-4 is fun. It took me a while to practice though. I found it invaluable in defending. I can't count how many tanks that was in our base I get to blown away by c4ing it. Some people just don't move! . I think it is also unnerving to the inf. unit when you are running and jumping and blowing up things around them. Yeah, some snipers with no skill hang out at the same spot, I sneak right up to one of them with his back turned and strapped remote c4s right on his leg, boom! That is for taking me out earlier.
I used timed c4s too, after reading some posts here. I have not done much where I just throw it on groud, but yesterday I was attcking a base and I used up all my remotes to take down what is left of a buidling, then the inf. came attacking, so I thought what the heck, I took out a stick of timed c4 and run right up to this guy, (he wasn't strafing, probably new) and stick it right on his stomach, I can't believe it! I just ran away then, keep attacking other building. Sure enough, I heard a little blurp about 35 secs(?) later, that was so much fun! I would hate to be that guy though, running around knowing you are screwed [ June 07, 2002, 11:08: Message edited by: what_a_rush ]

Ive got a funny story, and a few strats of my own.
Story: I was a Havoc, and I was sniping a Raveshaw over and over and over again. I had 2000 points. everyone wanted to kill me, but i sniped 'im all to death. They only had a break when I went back to base to reload. I had like 39 kills growing quickly. I de-activated scope, looked around where I had mined as a Hotwire b4 I got there. I had even mined tunnel leading to my position. I saw a flicker up against one wall. I fired twice with my Ramjet, hiting the wall. I thought i was ok, and sniped for 10 more secs. But, i saw a flicker again. I fired twice more. Suddenly, i saw that i had hit wall on either side of him, and he was standing still, acting like a rock. So, headshot fished him off. But, he came back as a Nod soldier, inched by my mines, (sweating i bet) and laid a timed c4 on me just as i turned off scope. I shot him, and ran like heck back to base screaming DEACTIVATE THIS C4 ON ME!! HURRY MORONS! BANG. I was dead, but came back just in time ot kill Raveshaw one more time and i was MVP that game.
My fav strat is to wait till a stealth soldier runs past you, follow him, lay a remote c4 on him, let him know your there, and "Push the button". Its sooo much fun. I did that twice in same game and they finally quit trying to get me and tank rushed instead.
